Description

Glasgow State Nursing Facility (GSNF) may be the place for you. We are a state-of-the-art 100-bed long-term care nursing facility for individuals with mental illness or intellectual disabilities. We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse Supervisor for our team in a caring and improving the daily lives of our residents.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Under the Supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse Supervisor performs delegated duties in the care of residents in a Long-Term Care Facility on an assigned shift. Supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Medication Aides, and Nurse Aide State Registered.
  • Provides unit management of personnel with issuing staff assignments, staff teaching and/or disciplinary actions.
  • Administers medication, supervises Medication Aides, monitors for side effects, completes resident assessments, and accounts for drug and related paraphernalia.
  • Contacts physician and resident representatives if condition warrants. Provides first aide for minor injuries, and updates plan of care. Processes any physician orders obtained.
  • Completes quality assurance performance improvement as assigned, serves on facility committees, completes all necessary trainings, completes disciplinary actions and retrainings.
  • Documents resident care and condition in medical records, completes resident assessments and documents reports daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office setting. Will also periodically administer medication to patients and monitor patient behavior. May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and conditions which requires the following of safety procedures.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
